New Perspective

The last year has been a whirl wind of activity when it comes to the administrative aspect of rugby. I know it has been more stressful than normal when I can't wait for the rugby season to start (especially since things need to be ironed out by than, so things administratively should calm down.)

With changes in administrative structures, switching from local area unions (LAUs) and territories (TUs) to geographical unions (GUs) means people who aren't use to working together are encouraged to find a way to make things work. Each organization does things just enough differently that it can make things interesting. Everyone has an opinion on how things should work, and hopefully will be able to compromise to figure out a good solution (or at least a good starting point.)

With things constantly changing daily, it will be interesting to see where we are a year from now and see how the dust finally settled. For me, the surprising part that I realized recently is that growing up I wasn't really a leader (unless you count getting my little sisters to do things.) Yet, as I have continued to grow, I find myself more and more in leadership roles. Many times it isn't because I want to be, but because individuals see me as a person who would be good in that role (or I am gullible enough to say yes, not sure which sometimes.) I have learned though it seems to be a family trait (mom was complaining about being a leader.) Some times you don't choose to lead, people choose you to lead.

Hopefully before the beginning of the next season things will be mostly figured out. Will see!
